The UK has tougher libel laws than does the USA. Under UK law a film like Oliver Stone's "W" probably could not have been released. An illustration of the tougher UK libel standard is shown by the BBC's decision not to go ahead with a docu-drama that would have included dramatic "reconstructions" (i.e. speculations) of Bush and Blair behind-the-scenes making decisions about Iraq.
